DYSLEXIA TEST

IS IT DYSLEXIA?

This screening assessment creates a personalised profile of learning strengths and difficulties, including the severity of symptoms.

It is based on screening developed by the Davis Dyslexia Association International (DDAI), adapted for our work.

Your results will be displayed as soon as you finish answering the questions. They will also be sent to you by email, along with useful recommendations and suggested next steps.

Sometimes a child is bright, quick to understand, and genuinely tries — yet reading, writing, or spelling are harder than they should be. And you don’t understand why.

I put this test together using the same questions I ask children, teenagers, and adults when they come to me for a Davis® Dyslexia Correction Program.

It covers more than just reading and writing. It shows how a person thinks and learns — and what happens during moments of disorientation, when stress or overload causes thoughts to become confused and the brain stops processing information clearly.

Because dyslexia does not exist only in the words on a page.

The word “dyslexia” is still rarely heard in schools. Teachers don’t use it, and sometimes even psychologists avoid it. But the word matters. It gives you a starting point — what to ask, where to look, and how to find answers that finally come together into a clear picture.

The main focus here is a test designed to identify signs of dyslexia.

But it also touches on related areas: attention, mathematics, and the impact these difficulties can have on confidence and self-esteem.

This is not a diagnosis. It is a first step towards clarity. And towards relief — when you realise there was a reason, and now you can see what it is.

And that it can be changed.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Children with dyslexia or ADHD are not “difficult” — their brains simply work differently.

When perception starts to “float,” frustration, scattered attention, slow reading, and rapid fatigue appear.

Laziness has nothing to do with it. This is what a different way of thinking can look like — and it can be gently brought back into balance so that learning stops overwhelming the child.

What’s Next?

If the test showed difficulties, you are probably wondering what to do next.

The most important thing: this can be addressed. And it is easier than it may seem right now.

The Dyslexia Correction Program is individual, one-to-one work. Over one intensive week, we address the main barriers to learning — using the way your child naturally thinks.

IS A DIAGNOSIS REQUIRED?

No — not to take part in the program. If the difficulties are typical of dyslexia, the program is likely to help.

However, if you need an official diagnosis* for ADHD, for example, it is better to complete the medical assessment before starting the program. A diagnosis is often based on the severity of symptoms. After successful work, the symptoms may become significantly less pronounced, making it more difficult to meet the diagnostic criteria.
